Dental health starts at home, but a care provider you trust can give you the tools you need to promote the best possible oral health.
The Intersection Of Dental Health And Overall Wellness
Dentistry has its focus, of course, on the teeth and other structures of the mouth, but it shouldn’t stop there – oral health is closely connected with the health of the entire body, and Dr. Chow takes this into account with his holistic approach to dental practice. At ModelSmile dentistry, we aren’t just interested in your teeth; we’re interested in you as an entire person, and we care about the impact that your oral health has on your overall lifestyle and wellbeing. That’s why we strive to use digital x-rays, rather than traditional x-rays, to limit the amount of radiation our patients are exposed to in our office.
We are also proud to provide a mercury-free practice: many patients don’t realize that the silver-colored amalgam fillings used by most dentists actually contain mercury, which can then be released into the body over time, causing negative health repercussions. Not only does Dr. Chow use only mercury-free fillings, he also follows the stringent guidelines necessary to protect the patient when removing and replacing old fillings that do contain mercury, something that not all dentists know how to do.
